Berbatov finally set for United?

Tottenham Hotspur want-away striker, Dimitar Berbatov, seems set to finally be on his way out of White Hart Lane.

According to The Sun, Manchester United launched a $US39.7 million bid for the Bulgarian with Sir Alex Ferguson adamant on getting his man.

The wily Scotsman believes that the ex-CSKA Sofia striker will be the perfect foil for the likes of Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez in United's already impressive attack force.

Berbatov on the other hand has made known his desire for some silverware before he retires and has flirted with various clubs who expressed their interest in him like Chelsea, AC Milan and United themselves.

Many United fans are wondering if this last ditch move for Berbatov is a growing signal for them that their flying winger, Cristiano Ronaldo is on the way to Real Madrid.

Spurs boss Juande Ramos will be unwilling to let his prized asset go but with the need to balance the account books, the Spaniard might not have a choice after all.
