Schuster: Robinho does not concern me

Real Madrid's Bernd Schuster insisted that Robinho was the last thing on his mind after his side's loss Deportivo La Coruna.

Real's 2-1 loss to the Galicians ensured that their wretched run against Deportivo at the Riazor stretched back since the 1991-92 campaign.

The German coach brushed aside questions of the Robinho saga and replied that the matter was not even worth attending to in the aftermath of the Brazilian's press conference in which he pleaded to leave for Chelsea.

"Today is not Robinho day, it was our day and the game is what is important. What Robinho does really does not interest me. He does not deserve the attention," Schuster said.

"I do not know what it is, but there is something about this place. We will spend the next few months studying this if we need to bribe the referee or play with an extra player," he said with a smile.

"We have tried everything, but Depor have beaten us and we have to congratulate them."

Schuster though declare himself satisfied with his attacking department but added that his defensive unit needs to be at their imperious best sooner rather than later.

"I do not think we lacked anything up front, we just needed to be more attentive at set pieces, that was what we should have done," he continued.

"It is not worrying because we dominated the game and I felt that the forwards did well."

His counterpart, Depo boss Miguel Ángel Lotina, was all smiles after the match as his side opened their La Liga account with a superb win against the reigning champions.

"It was a good game to watch with a high tempo. They came here to win, with a lot of desire and we did very well both physically and mentally," Lotina said.

"We needed to be very strong and that is what we did."

"I think we needed to really work and do everything we could and then the talent that the team has could come out."

"We have beaten a very good team and everyone is delighted."
