
Mourinho plans Real raid
Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho is looking at Real Madrid to solve his backline woes during the January transfer window.
“The Special One” has a ‘Special’ hit-list.And, Mourinho is targeting is Spanish champions Real Madrid; to ease the problems he has in defence at Inter.
According to Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, the former Chelsea boss is looking to lure defender Pepe to Italy, after losing Nelson Rivas for four months to a cruciate ligament injury.
Mourinho is a keen admirer of Pepe’s defensive qualities, and sees him as ideal cover for the injury-hit Inter backline. Pepe, 25, is high on his shopping list. The ex-Porto coach has already approached Nerazzuri president Massimo Moratti to ask for funds to sign the Spaniard.
Another Real player who is likely to end up at the San Siro is Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentina forward has been frozen out of action at the Bernabeu and has told reporters in Spain that he is keen to look for a new club.
Mourinho will take advantage of the striker’s unsettled situation at Real, as he aims to complete a double swoop come January.
