Carlos Tevez has edged himself closer to the exit door at Old Trafford with his claims to want and join Real Madrid.

Tevez has yet to enter contract talks at Manchester United - with his two-year loan deal finishing this season.

Though he has stated his desire to remain at the club, Tevez has yet to be offered a new deal.

Real have been a long-time admirer of the Argentina international, and now, the 24-year-old has told The Sun he would be delighted to seal a switch to the Bernabeu.

"Who wouldn't want to play for Real Madrid?" The Sun quoted Tevez as having said to a unnamed Spanish magazine.

"Like Manchester, they are one of the best clubs in the world - and it would be a pleasure to play for them."
