Villarreal have revealed that Manchester United will stand to gain a great deal for Giuseppe Rossi if they chose to sell him.

President Fernando Roig has confirmed tha United have a significant percentage of sell-on rights on Rossi.

The American-born Italian striker joined the Spanish club from United in July 2007 and has played 44 games, scoring 22 goals.

But Rossi, who has ambitions to be an Italian regular, has been linked with a return to Italy.

Though president Roig says: "At this time, Rossi is very necessary and we have noticed him missing.

"But Joseba (Llorente) does a great job and is fighting for the team to have those opportunities."
