Perez backed by 'The Vulture'
Legendary Real Madrid striker Emilio Butragueno has voiced his support for Florentino Perez to become the next Real president.
The former goal-great, who worked under Perez as vice-president between 2004-2006, believes that not only will his former boss return to power this summer but that he will also bring back the glory years.
Quoted in Spanish daily Marca Butragueno said "It will be very difficult to defeat Florentino Perez.
"He is a very intelligent man and I'm sure he knows what must be done so that Madrid return to their rightful place in world football.
"Florentino has demonstrated during his time that he is a wonderful president and during his first term, he was spectacular."
‘El Buitre' then gave a glimpse of what Madridistas want to see in the next era and the qualities in the new president.
"The fans want the team to win titles, but also to play with excitement. They also want the leaders to be courteous, to be knowledgeable, honest and noble.
"Our current situation is a shame, especially what happened in the last few games. It is always necessary to defend the prestige and pride and to finish [the season] in the best way possible."
Butregueno spent over 10 years at Real during which time he made over 340 appearances and scored over 120 goals.
