Deportivo vs Getafe Preview
Deportivo La Coruna coach Miguel Angel Lotina is urging his side to be brave over the final weeks of the season.
The Galician side are looking to upset the established order in the Primera Division and claim a Champions League spot.
With 13 points from their last five games Depor are one of the form teams in La Liga and that appears to have come at just the right time with only three games remaining.
Last weekend's 2-1 win over Recreativo Huelva left Depor in sixth place in the standings on 56 points, two behind fifth-placed Atletico Madrid and three adrift of Valencia in the fourth and final Champions League spot.
And with Atletico and Valencia facing each other on Sunday, Depor have a great chance to put more pressure on the two big guns when they welcome lowly Getafe to the Riazor tomorrow night.
If Depor stay in the position they are then it will be their highest league finish since they were third in 2004, but Lotina insists he wants more than that.
"I won't settle for sixth place. I know it's very difficult, but we need to try until the end," said Lotina, whose side must face third-placed Sevilla and leaders Barcelona in their final two games.
"We need to demand the most from ourselves and if we then fail, we fail, but we need to try and get into the Champions League.
"I want the team to give their all and then we can have a clear conscience, as our fans will see that we've given everything.
"If then there are five or six teams better than us, then we will congratulate them, but we have to be brave. We cannot hide at this moment at all."
On paper, Depor should have little trouble seeing off Getafe this weekend even though the club from the outskirts of Madrid claimed a potentially crucial 3-0 home win over relegation rivals Osasuna last weekend.
That lifted Getafe up to 15th and three points above the relegation zone, but having lost eight of their previous 10 matches, they cannot be said to have turned the corner just yet.
Depor striker Riki, the former Getafe player, believes his old side still pose a big threat though, saying: "It's not going to be at all easy to beat Getafe, even though they are down there."
Getafe's much-needed win over Osasuna was the first triumph for new coach Michel, who saw his side beaten 2-1 by Real Mallorca in his opening match after two defensive mistakes gifted their opponents both their goals.
Getafe now have salvation in their sights, especially with their final two games coming against bottom club Numancia and 13th-placed Racing Santander, but coach Michel still prefers a cautious approach.
"We are better, much better, but we are still not definitely safe," he said.
"There are three games remaining and we have to keep going."
Eugen Polanski and Jaime Gavilan are both missing for Getafe but Juan Albin has proven his fitness and has been included in an 18-man squad for the trip north.
For Depor, Lassad Nouioui is again sidelined through injury, as are Mista and Antonio Tomas.
