Osasuna vs Sevilla Preview
Osasuna coach Jose Antonio Camacho remains upbeat about his side's chances of avoiding the drop as they face a tough run of fixtures.
Last weekend's 3-0 defeat against relegation rivals Getafe means Osasuna have now taken just one point from their last five games, leaving them in 17th place in the standings and just two points above the drop zone.
As if that was not bad enough for the Pamplona-based side, they must now face the top three teams in La Liga in their final three matches - starting with Sevilla tomorrow, then travelling to Barcelona before completing their campaign at home to Real Madrid.
It is a daunting challenge for Camacho's men, but the former Spain coach is preferring to look at the positives.
"Analysing things, we were in a very bad moment and we got out of it. Now, without picking up points, we've been in a very good situation and we depend only and exclusively on ourselves," he said.
"There are other teams who cannot say the same thing at this stage of the competition."
He added: "We need to win the first game, and the first game is against Sevilla. If we win it would open many doors."
Osasuna may not have picked up many points recently but their performances have not been bad, and what they have found to be a problem is being able to finish matches with their full quota of players - in their last four games they have had five players sent off.
Four of those reds came in the last two home matches against Malaga and Recreativo Huelva, but despite those setbacks Camacho was pleased with the way his side played in those games.
"I would like the team to go out as they did against Malaga and Recreativo and then hope the things that happened in those games do not happen again," said Camacho, whose side held Sevilla 1-1 at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in their first game of 2009.
"Sevilla have a good squad and a good team. We created problems for them there and now they are here. It's a game where there is tension, a full ground, and the fans are in your favour - everything a player needs to be motivated. These are the good games."
Roversio Rodrigues, Sunny and Dady are all set to miss tomorrow's game through injury, while Nacho Monreal is a big doubt.
Like Osasuna, Sevilla also have a great deal to gain from the match as they chase a Champions League berth.
Manolo Jimenez's side are currently third in the table, four points above Valencia and five clear of Atletico Madrid - with those two facing each other on Sunday.
"There is nothing else on our minds than to get there, into the Champions League.
"They are three important points for our opponents, but also for us," said Jimenez, who welcomes back Fernando Navarro and Abdoulay Konko after suspension, but is missing Aquivaldo Mosquera through illness, along with Arouna Kone, who has been omitted.
