Pandiani: We are playing for our lives
Osasuna have to secure a victory over Barcelona at all costs when they face them at the Camp Nou this Saturday.
Walter Pandiani is backing his team to avoid relegation with a vital win over the newly crowned La Liga champions.
The Pamplona team are currently third from bottom in La Primera Division and with two tough games left in the season are favourites for relegation.
Pandiani assured that this weekend they are playing for their "lives" against Barcelona and personally he is "relaxed despite not scoring for two matches".
"I am not obessesing, but I am worried about scoring to help the team. We are going to face two difficult sides and it will be key to score quickly," he told the official Osasuna website.
"We have to win these two matches, without thinking what goes on elsewhere...The team will be prepared, it is a last push and we cannot throw away all the work of this second-half of the season just like that."
One of the plus points for Osasuna is that this weekend they will be facing a Barcelona team who have the Champions League final coming up in mid-week.
Pandiani does not want his side to forget that they are the champions though and that they will still have good players in the ranks.
"The players are going to want to continue their party on the pitch. They will give us nothing, because it is a game for those players who are not first-choices to show themselves, and they will have players like [Eric] Abidal, [Daniel] Alves and Bojan [Krkic]. One must respect Barca more than anybody; they are the champions and some do not play every week because of [Lionel] Messi, [Thierry] Henry, Xavi or [Andres] Iniesta," he explained.
"We were frustrated not to get the win against Sevilla and also because of the other results that day, but now we are thinking about how to play on Saturday."
