Alves: I'm not scared of Kaka
As Real Madrid move closer to a Kaka deal, Barcelona full-back Dani Alves is not fazed by the prospect of the Brazilian's arrival.
Kaka is expected to headline Florentino Perez's new project to revive the Galaticos policy, a move that is widely expected to see Madrid emerge stronger next season - particularly because of Kaka's presence.
Although Alves acknowledges the quality of Kaka, he is confident Barcelona are up for the challenge.
"Kaka is a great player, someone who can turn a football match around in seconds, but Barca are not scared of his arrival," he told Marca.
"We have very good players and we are certainly going to continue fighting for all titles [next season]... although Madrid are going to be much more dangerous now.
"But it is going to be good for Spanish football. He is going to play much better in Spain than he did in Italy because over here, the style is more similar to the samba and the Brazilian way. I'm sure the fans will be enchanted by him and they will enjoy his football a lot," added Alves.
Although Dani didn't hide the fact that he would have preferred if Kaka hadn't joined Los Blancos, he is still happy for his countryman.
"I would have liked it if he had joined Barcelona instead. That would have been good, no? But I am still glad for him because he is a friend of mine," he reasoned.
"If he is happy because he has signed for Madrid, then perfect. But I would've preferred him to be at Barca."
Finally, the Blaugrana right-back was asked to compare Kaka with Lionel Messi.
"Kaka is an exceptional player, but Messi, for everything he has done this season, is above everyone else. Right now, he's the best in the world.
"But a king never loses his crown and Kaka was a former Ballon d'Or winner."
