Zizou wants Franck at Madrid

Zinedine Zidane has revealed that Real Madrid are still trying to work out a deal to bring Franck Ribery to the Bernabeu.

Zidane has been interested in the playing ability of Ribery and hopes he will soon be able to welcome his compatriot to the Spanish capital.

Some might have thought that Los Blancos would have had their attacking options sewn up with the acquisitions of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka, but Zidane believes that Florentino Perez would be doing the club a service by signing Ribery.

"We really hope that he will sign," Zidane told RMC radio. "It would be superb news for the club."

"If he was to come over to Madrid I would be delighted to welcome him."

Bayern GM Uli Hoeness has stated that Ribery is staying with the Bundesliga giants, and would only be sold if a 'crazy' bid is tabled.

However, with Real Madrid on a record spending spree since the election of Perez, a ‘crazy' bid should not be completely ruled out for now.
