Villa keeps hush-hush about transfer
Valencia and Spain superstar and hit man David Villa has kept mum about his future at the club amid much speculation.
After reports broke yesterday confirming that Valencia had ended negotations with Real Madrid, and that Los Che were now speaking to Barcelona to broker a deal for Spain's second highest goalscorer ever, Spanish journalists hoped to get a statement from the star, who is currently in South Africa for the Confed Cup.
However, after Sunday night's win over New Zealand, they were left disappointed as he stayed tight-lipped.
‘El Guaje', like the rest of his international team-mates, passed through the post-match media zone at the end of the game, but according to El Mundo Deportivo, the 27-year-old refused to give anything away about his future, not to speaking to anyone, in a repeat of Saturday, on the eve of the encounter, when rumours were hot that he was on the verge of completing a move to Madrid.
El Mundo also reported that journalists have made a request to the Spanish Football Federation's press department to officially organize a press conference for Villa but the striker is said to be hesitant. Last week he said he had ‘put his trust in his agent', as rumours abound about his future.
Fresh reports from England are now suggesting that Manchester United are about to launch a mega €52.8 million bid for the goal scoring machine, who found the net again in Spain's 5-0 drubbing of New Zealand.
This report sent the Spanish media into a tizzy, and with Chelsea having being linked with a big bid, the future looks uncertain, but very bright for the striker.
