Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro has given a warm welcome to Real's new signings.

The retired defender who made his name playing in the center of defence for the Whites told Spanish media that he wishes "all the best" for his former club.

According to the EFE, he was also asked about the money spent by Florentino Perez and stated that he has "absolute respect for those who make the decisions in their profession and take responsibility".

"Some may like it more and some may like it less, but I do not have much to say about the signings made by any team," he said.

Hierro is currently working as a sports director for the Spanish Football Federation and was asked whether Madrid should buy more homegrown players like Albiol.

"Depending on the size of the club each one counts on different things, we do not have any reason to object," he stated.
