Ronaldo: I want to make Real history
Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that he joined Real Madrid to "become one of the best players in the club's history.
The Portugese winger told Marca that he was becoming unmotivated at Manchester United and that was why he decided to join Real.
"My goal is to become one the best players in the club's history... or the best," he said.
After his £80million move to the Spanish capital, Ronaldo has admitted that he feels relieved.
"When I completed the transfer, I felt relieved. Now I can say that I have fulfilled my dream," he added.
When asked about the weight of expectation that comes with a near-€100m price tag, Ronaldo replied: "Florentino Perez has revolutionised the world of football, but I will prove that I am worth what he paid for me.
"Monday will be the greatest moment of my life."
He also had a message to his future fans: "I am not who they say I am in the gossip magazines and sensationalist media."
Ronaldo will reportedly take the No. 9 jersey and the player will be unveiled at the Santiago Bernabeu on Monday, July 6.
