Resino confident of duo staying

Atletico Madrid coach Abel Resino is confident Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan will remain at the club.

Forlan set the Primera Division alight last season with 32 goals in 33 games, and that has made him a reported target for several clubs in Spain and beyond.

Aguero has also been linked with an exit, with Manchester United one of the clubs reportedly interested in 'Kun', but Resino believes both strikers will stay.

"Football is changeable," he told El Mundo Deportivo. "You can never guarantee anything.

"Especially in Spain since they introduced the law that every player is free if they pay his buy-out clause.

"All the players are working fantastically and I think we will continue with Kun and Forlan.

"I am completely counting on them and the work is focused around those two, even though what could happen in the transfer market is something we can't control."

Forlan was one of the hottest properties at the beginning of the summer but now looks set to remain at Atletico after Manchester City signed Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor, while Barcelona are on the verge of securing the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
