Negredo aims to keep it Real

Alvaro Negredo hopes to get the chance to score more goals for Real Madrid after scoring against Liga de Quito.

Negredo, who learnt his trade in Madrid's youth ranks, returned to his home-town club this summer after two successful seasons at Almeria but it remains to seen what sort of future he has at the Bernabeu.

Madrid are keen to offload some first-teamers in a bid to accommodate all their new arrivals and recoup some funds after splashing out almost £200million already, and Negredo is one of those players whose name has been linked with a move away.

However, the 23-year-old striker insisted after netting his first senior goal for the club that he would like the chance to stay at Madrid if possible.

"I have to wait, be calm, train as hard as I can, and hopefully I can stay here," said Negredo, who could be up against Karim Benzema, Raul, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Gonzalo Higuain for playing time if he stays.

"I want to give it everything to get myself a place here, although it will be very difficult."

Negredo was sent into the fray against Liga de Quito in the 61st minute as a replacement for the injured Benzema and his big moment came in injury-time when he latched onto Royston Drenthe's low cross to slot home his maiden goal for the club and seal a 4-2 win.

"To play in the Santiago Bernabeu and be able to score a goal makes me proud, but for me just putting on this shirt was something great," he said.

"To score in this stadium is the nicest thing in the world, I`m a lifelong Madridista and it`s the best."

Now Negredo is hoping to add to his account in the semi-finals of the Peace Cup, where Madrid will play Juventus in Seville on Friday.

"Of course I would love to score against Juventus, although I like scoring against any team. Juve are one of the biggest teams in the world, it will be a great match and we are all hoping to get through to the final," he added on his club`s website.
