Guardiola pleased with Ibra

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola was delighted to see record signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic taking part in his first training session.

The Swede has been hampered by a hand injury following his switch to the Spanish giants from Inter, but managed to join his colleagues for a light workout on Monday.

Guardiola is keen to see the 27-year-old striker develop an understanding with the current members of the team as he settles into his new surroundings. Speaking to reporters he commented "It is a very good sign for his [Ibrahimovic] integration into the team, and he has already begun running, although it was not strenuous."

The Catalan coach also hopes to see ‘Ibra' involved in friendly action sooner rather than later, and become part of the team dynamic.

He added, "I sense that in a short time he will be able to train, and this is important, not only so that he knows us, but so that we know his style.

"But it is clear from what we have seen that he is a quiet boy, but has fitted in very well."

Ibrahimovic was part of the seasons biggest transfer saga when he joined Barca from Inter in a deal that saw Samuel Eto'o move in the opposite direction.
