Capel confident of contract renewal
Sevilla winger Diego Capel is assured of his future with the Rojiblancos.
The 21-year-old believes he is close to reaching an agreement with the club with regards to a contract renewal.
Speaking to AS, he said: "We are getting closer and closer to an agreement and I hope that we can reach a conclusion soon.
"Both parties are satisfied because both of us want the contract to be extended.
"My first option was always to renew at Sevilla, but I can't give a date when it will be concluded.
"Rest assured, I'm the first who wants this matter to be resolved quickly so I can work with calm."
‘Assured' indeed, with a rather dismal showing last season, Capel hopes to have the opportunity to redeem himself and return to the top of his game.
"Last season was rather forgettable for several reasons, but a new one will soon begin and I am very excited.
"I am going to work hard and fight to win my spot back in the team. I'm only focused on Sevilla and I hope things will turn out well," he said.
The tricky winger remains remarkably optimistic on all fronts, club and country.
"On a personal level, this is an important year because the team will be playing in three competitions.
"In addition, I would like to return to the national team. It would be great to go to the World Cup.
"But to achieve this, I have to work very hard," Capel declared.
Capel will have his work cut out for him this upcoming season, if he wants to remain in the first-team flanks.
