Defender Alvaro Arbeloa expressed his confidence in Real Madrid after the Spanish giants thumped Toronto FC 5-1.

Arbeloa added that the thrashing of the MLS outfit was just a preview of what to expect from Real this season.

"The important thing is that we won," said the Spaniard to Marca. "I am proud to be able to play in this team. We gave a good account of ourselves, and must continue playing in this fashion."

"This is a great team, but with so many players, we need to adapt to the ideas of the coach. We are confident, because you can see that the forwards connect very well."

"Everyone is working hard, and that helps."

Arbeloa was also relieved that Cristiano Ronaldo was now an ally, not an enemy.

"It is great to see him up to his tricks as a team-mate, not an opponent," concluded the former Liverpool fullback.
