Robben set to fight for Real place

Arjen Robben signaled his intent to stay at Real Madrid when he came off the bench to score against Toronto FC in their 5-1 win.

The Dutchman has reportedly been told that he is free to leave the Spanish giants this offseason.

"When you play well and score a goal, it is a positive on an individual level," said Robben to Spanish tabloid AS. "We all played well against a strong, athletic team. We showed some great touches in both halves."

"It was a great performance."

Robben allegedly rejected an offer to play for Tottenham, declaring, "My intention is to stay here."

"I believe that I can help this team a lot."

"I have a lot of confidence for the coming season."

The Netherlands international did day that he is communicating with new Los Blancos' coach Manuel Pellegrini, saying, "We have spoken, although not too much."

"But for me, the most important thing is to prove my worth in training and matches."
