In-demand winger David Silva is set to stay in Spain but at Atletico Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

The Spaniard has been hottly tipped to leave Valencia with Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus all linked with the 23-year-old Euro 2008 winner.

Both Silva as well as David Villa had publicly pledged their future at Valencia to squash all rumours.

However, according to AS, Atletico are set to secure Silva by offering Champions League football as a carrot.

Atletico are favourites to progress from their qualifying tie with Panathinaikos, after winning the first leg 3-2 in Greece last Wednesday.

If Atletico do get Silva, it could mean Kun Aguero, who has been linked with Chelsea. is set to leave the club.
