Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra has again dismissed comparisons with Claude Makelele.

The 24-year-old France international has been regularly been compared with Makelele now that he is a Real Madrid regular.

Diarra also spent some time together with Makelele at Chelsea before joining Arsenal and then Portsmouth.

He then completed a blockbuster €20 million move to Real in January and during his time here, he has been regualarly called 'new Maka'.

"I am compared to Makelele, but I am not Makelele, I am Lassana Diarra, and I do not fulfil the roles of others, I do my own job," insisted the 24-year-old to AS.

Diarra is also confident that Real has a better midfield than rivals Barcelona, and he believes that Cristiano Ronaldo will be a great success at Los Merengues.

"He has all the attributes to succeed here," said Diarra.
