Ronaldo and Kaka praise team
New Real Madrid signings Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka were delighted with the team's opening day victory over Deportivo.
Ronaldo converted the penalty that gave Los Merengues the lead for a second time in a game they finally edged 3-2 thanks to further goals from captain Raul and Lass Diarra.
Speaking to reporters after the game the winger commented "The first game is always the most difficult.
"It is always important to win the first game. There is a great feeling after this match.
"I am very pleased with our performance. We showed some good aspects, and some others that we must improve.
"The important thing was to win, and we did."
Kaka echoed similar sentiments, saying, "We created a lot of chances.
"It is normal that the opposition tried to close us down, but the important thing is that we won.
"It was not an easy match, so the victory is more special."
Finally, the Brazilian gave his first impressions of playing at the Bernabeu in the league, stating, "It is a fantastic feeling to play in this stadium.
"The fans always encourage us, especially in the toughest moments.
"They helped us a lot to win today."
