Ribery: No Real deal, Spain beckons

Franck Ribery is adamant that there is no deal in place to take him from Bayern Munich to Real Madrid next year.

The France international had been backed to make the move this summer, but, with a whole host of high profile clubs showing their interest, Bayern rejected all approaches for their 26-year-old prized asset.

Many had expected that the £22million arrival of Arjen Robben from Real last week would pave the way for Ribery to finally leave the Allianz Arena after a summer of speculation.

Despite Bayern's inflexibility, Robben is still determined to play in Spain at some point of his career.

"Is there an agreement between Bayern and Real for a transfer next summer? Never, I deny it. That is fake," he told France Football.

"Absolutely nothing has been sorted out so far.

"Bayern officials didn't propose me any extension. Maybe we will talk. I have never closed any door.

"My preference is to move to Spain. One day I will play in the Primera Liga."
