Kaka delight after Real victory

Real Madrid new boy Kaka has revealed his delight after the Spanish giants romped to a 3-0 defeat of Espanyol on Saturday.

Goals from Esteban Granero, Guti and Cristiano Ronaldo secured the win for Manuel Pellegrini's men, who joined arch rivals Barcelona at the top of the Primera Liga table thanks to their second win from two outings.

Kaka was at the centre of Real's comfortable victory, setting up both Granero and Guti to put the icing on a highly successful week for the Brazil international.

"I am very pleased to have provided two assists," he told AS.

"In the end, that is my role. And it makes me as happy as scoring a goal.

"We showed that we are a good team, because we adapted well despite the changes.

"The key was that we played a great first half, and that made it easy.

"It has been a great week for me, because we qualified for the World Cup with Brazil, and now we have won our second league game."

Real's win is sure to provide a timely morale boost ahead of their opening Group C Champions League clash with FC Zurich in Switzerland on Tuesday.
