Eto'o demands US$4.5m from Barca
Samuel Eto'o wants Barcelona to pay him almost US$4.5 million after his switch to Italian side Inter Milan.
According to BBC Sport, Eto'o feels he is entitled to 15% of the transfer fee of US$29 million which Inter paid Barcelona in July for his signature.
This is in accordance to the Spanish rule which says a player should get 15% of the amount of his transfer to another Spanish club.
If the parties fail to reach a solution the matter could got to court.
But Barcelona have refuted Eto'o's claims as that this rule only applies to Spanish clubs and getting a cut of the transfer deal is up to the buyer and not the seller.
Eto'o could be using the case study of when Deportivo La Coruna were forced to pay 2.1 million euros to Spanish striker Albert Luque, the equivalent of 15 percent his transfer to Newcastle in August 2005.
Barcelona have announced they will fight to prove their side of the story.
