Milito targets January return
Barcelona's long-term injury absentee Gabriel Milito could make a return to action after the Spanish league's winter break.
Milito suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a UEFA Champions League tie against Manchester United back in April 2008 and has not played since.
His 18-month lay-off has seen him undergo knee surgery in his native Argentina before embarking on an arduous rehabilitation programme both in his home country and back in Spain.
However, things are now looking a lot brighter for the talented centre-back who has been seen taking part in light training with the Catalan club of late.
Having missed the entire treble winning season, Milito's recovery would be seen as a virtual new signing for the club and barring further setbacks he could be back in action after the winter break in January.
If this is the case Guardiola for one will be overjoyed, the coach commenting "One of the biggest stories of the year will be being able to say Gabriel Milito returns to the squad."
