Raul Madrid not Real Madrid
Raul spoke about his team's performance rather than his own achievements after Real Madrid's 4-2 win over Valladolid.
The Madrid captain was presented with a trophy before kick-off and went on to net a brace to cap off a great night.
Speaking to Marca after the game, Raul said: "I am happy, but mostly I am proud that we obtained three important points."
"I never thought of achieving this. It will soon be 15 years since I made my debut, and it was very difficult to think of this figure.
"I am very pleased, and I want to continue to help my team-mates and the club. But I am already thinking about Wednesday, when we have an important European game that we must prepare for."
The living legend shifted the attention to his team's overall performance as he reckons Madrid can get even better given time.
"We are not playing consistently for 90 minutes."
"We begun very well, than Valladolid scored and caused tension. We did not know how to handle the game.
"Scoring four goals looks great, but we had our difficulties. We have a new project, with many different ideas and people.
"We must be patient. We have only lost one game, in Seville.
"This is a long season, and we must be on top in May."
