Higuain backs under-fire Pellegrini
Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has defended coach Manuel Pellegrini after the Spanish giants suffered their second defeat of the season.
AC Milan grabbed an unlikely win at the Bernabeu to heap more pressure on Pellegrini.
After spending around €250 million (£226m), expectation and pressure is high at the Santiago Bernabeu this term.
However, Argentine frontman Higuain has no doubts that the former Villarreal chief has what it takes to be a success at Real and insists Pellegrini has the full support of his star-spangled squad.
Improve
"That's why he was signed," he said.
"He has the right squad with which to be successful.
"We have to improve on maintaining our form throughout games, but we also do other things very well. It's up to us; we are good enough to achieve this.
"We are one point behind the leaders in La Liga and we are group leaders in the Champions League.
"We've managed to win some very important matches away from home. We will try to show people that we are capable of defeating anybody."
Higuain missed Real's last game with a minor injury but hopes to be back in contention against Sporting Gijon on Saturday.
