Alonso rues Robben's absence
Xabi Alonso thinks Real Madrid are missing the talents of winger Arjen Robben and it was a mistake to let him leave the club.
Robben was forced out of the Spanish club after the arrival of Crisitano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
The Dutchman joined Bayern Munich and has been a qualified success at the German club.
Alonso felt that Real could have used his talents in the Champions League game against Milan and the league game against Sporting Gijon.
The former Liverpool midifelder said: "Robben is a very good player one-on-one and he could break a game at any time. He would have been good in meetings such as Milan, but I should think he would've played little, preferring to accept the offer from Bayern Munich."
The Spain international also thinks Real are suffering without Ronaldo
"Clearly: Cristiano has unique qualities, brings imbalance in one on one and has the ability to score and find something different. When the results are not good, Cristiano's absence will be debated."
