Guti to be let off for oversleeping

Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini has reportedly let Guti off after he missed Monday training session.

According to Sport, the midfielder was late for two hours and cited he had set the wrong time on his alarm clock. The Spanish paper also reported that Pellegrini is unlikely to punish the player.

Real Madrid missed the chance to keep pace with Barcelona after a disappointing 0-0 draw at Sporting Gijon over the weekend and this incident is sure to test Pellegrini's ability to control the egos at the club.

Meanwhile, after the draw at Sporting, Guti admitted: "We are improving, but we must ask more of this team. It is true that we are missing important players, who score goals but we must not focus on this."
