Guardiola happy with performance
Pep Guardiola was heartened by Barcelona’s performance against Osasuna on Saturday, despite Gerard Pique’s own goal late in the game.
Barca looked to have done enough to bag all three points after Seydou Keita scored in the 72th minute, but Pique put the ball past a shocked Victor Valdes as the referee signaled the end of the game.
"It feels uncomfortable not to win when you have been so close," Guardiola admitted to Marca after the game.
"We knew that they would press us, but we controlled their play. We have lost two points, but I am happy with our performance.
"Sometimes chances are taken, and sometimes they are not. A lot of circumstances led to the own goal, but their only other threat in the second half was from a Nekounam free-kick.
"Last week Osasuna conceded in the last minute, and this week they equalized. This is football.
"We must now recover and get a good result in Russia."
Barcelona will now visit Rubin Kazan in the Champions League, eager to atone for their 2-1 upset at the hands of the reigning Russian champions.
