Marcelo: Real has winning spirit
Marcelo insists that Real Madrid are back on track after their win against Getafe as the team prepares for Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The Brazilian proved that he was much more productive playing in midfield rather than in defence as he helped Real defeat Getafe 2-0.
Los Merengues now face a daunting task of taking a win at the San Siro, after falling to Milan at the Bernabeu just a couple of weeks ago.
"We are not thinking about revenge but we are excited for the chance to finish top of the group. We will show a lot of winning spirit against Milan," he told Real's official website.
"I thought that we were very organised against Getafe, but it depends on us, not the coach. We can beat whoever when we play well."
The win over Getafe offered Real a much-needed morale boost, and Marcelo says that the victory has changed the complexion of the team.
"We had a tough week on all fronts and we knew that it was important to beat Getafe to keep pace with Barca heading into our match against Milan. The fans cannot see their team lose 4-0 like they did in Alcorcon," he continued.
"It also allowed us to put pressure on Barca. Our overall spirit improved. We all helped out and ran a lot. We are one point away from Barcelona. They are a good team, but so are we.
"Something things just happen in a way that we don't like. People must be a little more patient. We were anxious to forget about the previous week."
