France international Karim Benzema has told reporters that he is overwhelmed by the size of expectations at Real Madrid.

The striker who has scored three goals in seven league games for the Spanish giants has not been as prolific as many had expected of him.

The Frenchman has found Gonzalo Higuain. Argentina international Higuain struck twice for Real in their victory over Getafe on Saturday.

"The pressure that exists at this club is crazy," Benzema told L'Equipe yesterday.

Benzema cost Real €35 million when he moved from Lyon at the start of the season.
