Reyes: I want to beat Real so badly

Jose Antonio Reyes has declared that he wants to defeat Real Madrid more than any Atletico Madrid fan when both sides contest the local derby.

Reyes played for Real in his lone season at the club in the 2006-07 season after being loaned there by Arsenal, and the forward has failed to impress the Atleti since joining them in 2007.

The explosive player admitted that he has "a thorn in his side" in regard to his stay at the Bernabeu, and added that there is "nothing better than the Atletico shirt to get it out". He continued by saying that he will score "the most beautiful goal" against Real if given the opportunity.

The 26-year-old revealed that he is struggling to produce his best form due to the frosty relationship he has had with the fans but said that the fans are slowly warming up to him and the change in coaches for Los Colchoneros has given him a new lease of life.

"I struggled, especially my family, but the other day everyone was standing and applauding, and that to me and any player gives you some confidence," he remarked.

"Abel [Resino] damaged me. Quique [Flores] has given us great confidence, not only me but any player. Abel did not talk to any player, only the usual two."
