Henry playing through pain barrier

Barcelona striker Thierry Henry has revealed that he is still not 100% fit and is currently playing in pain.

The French international scored his first goal in nine matches for Barca in their 4-2 romp over Real Mallorca - a welcome return to form following recent press speculation that the striker could be leaving the Camp Nou.

Henry has been plagued with a series of injuries since the start of the season and rumours had him returning to former club Arsenal and even considering a big-money switch to the USA.

Speaking to Barca TV after the match Henry explained that he had been playing through the pain barrier, "I've always played with a sore knee, I have not been 100% at any time this season.

"I could not bend either leg, and I have been suffering discomfort."

He also took the opportunity to hit back at those journalists who had criticised his goal-scoring record saying "I read that I have not scored a goal in six months. How can I score when I am on vacation? It is ridiculous."

Henry was an integral part of the Barcelona side that won the treble last season, and who currently sit on top of La Liga.
