Copa del Rey Wednesday Review

Getafe moved into the next round of the Copa del Rey as a 1-1 draw at Espanyol saw them go through 3-1 on aggregate.

The Madrid outfit made life easier for themselves as Roberto Soldado made it 3-0 on aggregate in the 20th minute.

And while Ivan Alonso equalised 16 minutes later, Espanyol could not produce the two further goals needed to keep themselves in the cup.

In the other matches top flight outfit Athletic Bilbao crashed out to Rayo Vallecano, losing 2-2 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate.

Fernando Llorente (41) put the Basque outfit ahead before Angel Martinez (73) levelled on the night. Javi Martinez (74) restored the lead immediately only for Edu Albacar to steal in and equalise again three minutes later.

Another La Liga side, Racing Santander, were stung into action following their 1-0 first-leg defeat by Salamanca with a 4-1 win tonight to progress 4-2 on aggregate as Mohamed Tchite scored twice.

Alhassane Keita's solitary strike helped Real Mallorca squeeze through as a 1-0 win at San Moix earned them an away-goals win as it finished 2-2 overall.
