Gourcuff dreams of Barcelona
Bordeaux's Yoann Gourcuff has declared that Barcelona are his dream team, but admitted he is not yet good enough to play for them.
The 23-year-old France international has been a sensation since joining Bordeaux from AC Milan in 2008 - helping his club to the league and cup double and carrying off the Ligue 1 player of the year award.
Such stellar performances have seen the talented midfielder linked to a string of Europe's biggest clubs, including a return to Italian giants Milan and a move to Premier League side Arsenal.
However, when asked which team he admired the most Gourcuff had no hesitation is naming Pep Guardiola's all-conquering side.
"In the last ten or fifteen years they have been best team in football in my opinion. It is great that they confirmed this with victory in the Champions League.
"All players on this team should feel a tremendous joy of playing football together. It is the best team right now," he said, according to El Mundo Deportivo
The star was then quizzed on whether he could like to join the Catalan side, to which he replied "I'm still far from being able to join Barcelona, especially with their current midfield. But in the approach to the style of play, I'm pretty close.
"The truth is that gives me great pleasure to see players like Xavi, who are in constant motion, giving, offering ... That's exactly what I like about football."
