Esteban Granero has come out in support of Real Madrid team-mate Guti, after the recent drama involving the playmaker.

Granero is also adamant that Los Merengues can beat bitter rivals Barcelona at the Nou Camp late November.

"From the beginning Guti has been very important for this team. He has great quality and after his injury we felt his absence, but I'm sure that soon he will be on the team," Granero told AS.

"Guti is the second captain and we need him. I learn a lot from him. I think the issues that have been written about are exaggerated.

"This team can beat anyone. I am convinced that we will have a great game against Barcelona, and that's going to serve to push us above them in the table."

The midfielder added that the players are banding together behind Manuel Pellegrini.

He added, "He's a very demanding coach [Pellegrini] and I like it because it helps me improve. I had always supported him, he speaks to the truth and has shown confidence in me, and throughout this squad. We are with him to the death."
