Pires: Pellegrini must forgive Guti

Robert Pires believes Manuel Pellegrini must patch up his differences with Guti in order to save his job at Real Madrid.

The veteran French midfielder insists that in the pressure-cooker surroundings of the Bernabeu patience is always at a premium and when things are not going well it is the coach who ultimately pays the price.

Speaking to Spanish daily Marca Pires commented "The people in Madrid have no patience, I know it is a tough team and that the people do not want to wait, they want to see a strong Madrid, but people do not know that when you change so many players you cannot find a pretty brand of football easily.

"He who pays for all that, as always, is the coach. Pellegrini is trying to do well, but people do not want to wait."

Pires went on to say that any manager, including Pellegrini, knows that this is the situation at the capital club and so should always be careful when dealing with player conflict.

"You cannot forget what happened in the locker room at Alcorcon. What he [Guti] said can not be said, it is a lack of respect.

"Pellegrini knew that if he went to Real Madrid and that he would find this kind of situation, and it would not be easy for him. Normally, Pellegrini would not forgive Guti, but I think that will change a little, and he has to do so if he wants to continue" he added.
