Diego Maradona has demanded Atletico Madrid to build their team around his son-in-law Sergio Aguero.

The Argentina coach, who has been banned from any football-related activity by FIFA, also stressed that if Atletico do not do so, they will have to let him go.

Atletico finished fourth in La Liga last term, the side are currently in the relegation zone and already out of the UEFA Champions League.

Maradona now believes the Spanish side must invest or allow the Argentina international to leave.

Maradona told Marca: "To make the best of Aguero's qualities they must create a team worthy of him and sign some players.

"Otherwise they must let him go and not harm his development."

The 21-year-old striker joined Atletico from Argentine side Independiente in 2006, with his contract running until 2012.
