Angry Negredo has high hopes
Alvaro Negredo is prepared to stay with Sevilla and fight for a place amongst a glorious list of strikers.
Negredo joined the Seville club in the summer from Real Madrid but has had a stop-start season so far in the campaign with Frederic Kanoute and Luis Fabiano the preferred strike-force.
Speaking to AS, Negredo explained his frustration at being substituted in recent games but is willing to wait for his chance.
He said: "If I don't get angry when I am replaced, I would not feel part of this team. I just want to play as much as possible and grow as a player. I always want more and hope to get things with Sevilla, so it is normal that it bothers me be not to be on the pitch,"
He went on to maintain that his relationship with fellow strikers, Kanoute and Fabiano is healthy.
He declared: "I have set a high standard for a long time and always give my best. Then it's just a matter of luck in front of goal. We all want to play and score,
"We know that the squad of Sevilla is very broad and there are other players who, if you don't do well, are waiting there. But all that is good for the team. My relationship with [Frederic] Kanoute, Luis Fabiano and [Arouna] Kone is excellent."
