Puyol sees no need for Robinho

Barcelona captain, Carlos Puyol, has hinted that the club does not need to sign Robinho from Manchester City.

The Brazilian winger has been heavily linked with the Catalan giants and a move in the January window could very well happen.

However, Puyol has made it clear that he feels Barca have enough players who can play in that position.

Speaking to Radio Marca, Puyol said:"He is a great player, but we have very good players in that position like [Thierry] Henry and [Andres] Iniesta, who can also play on the wing. I believe that we have a very complete squad,"

The Spanish veteran also touched on his recent renewal of contract with the club.

He said: "Before renewing with the club, I asked for some time to think about possibly going abroad.

"In the end I renewed until 2013, but I wanted to be 100 per cent sure before signing. I'm very happy at Barcelona and the club have treated me very well."

Puyol made known the fact that he will probably not go into coaching when his playing days are over.

"I don't want to be either a coach or a president. I believe that being a coach is very hard because of the pressure that the role brings." he added.
