Atletico Madrid coach Quique Sanchez Flores is suffering from swine flu, the club confirmed today.

The boss was unable to take either of the two training sessions planned for today and tests revealed he is suffering from the virus, a statement on www.clubatleticodemadrid.com said.

Assistant Fran Escriba took training in Flores' absence. Flores only took over at Atletico last month, replacing Abel Resino.

The capital club take on Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday.
