Milito makes Barcelona comeback

Barcelona defender Gabriel Milito spoke of his delight after making his playing comeback after an 18-month injury nightmare.

Milito had been sidelined since suffering knee ligament damage in the Champions League semi-final against Manchester United in April 2008, but he made a 45-minute appearance for Barca in a training match against Bolivar today.

The 29-year-old Argentina international said on his club's website: "For me it has been a very special day. I have rediscovered old feelings.

"I've had very good feelings after so much time without playing. I feel very good and very well.

"I played the first half as agreed with the coach. It was good for me and I finished very well."

He added: "Things have changed a lot recently. I've been training with my team-mates for a month and I've got a lot more confidence and optimism.

"I'm taking very important steps, although I know that I'm still in my recovery phase. I still have to play an official match. How much more time? I don't know that yet, but I'm not far off."
