Bronzetti: Ruud deal not happening
Ernesto Bronzetti has claimed that Ruud van Nistelrooy’s reported move to AS Roma on loan from Real Madrid is unlikely to happen.
The veteran striker has revealed that he may consider a move out of the Bernabeu to increase his chances of playing for the Netherlands in next year's World Cup finals. Reports out of Italy have linked the Dutch international striker to Roma.
"It is difficult," Italian transfer consultant Bronzetti said to Radio Centro Suono Sport.
"He is under contract and we'll see over the coming days if a deal can be done. [Lupi coach Claudio] Ranieri likes him. But his wages are close to €5 million-per-season and he wants to play where he has more options available to him.
"He is very much in demand in England, but we will know nothing about it until the transfer market opens.
"The coach is not playing him and it is normal that he wants to leave. Roma made an approach on transfer deadline day [last summer], but there were no grounds to make it happen."
