Barca face anxious wait on Messi
Barcelona star Lionel Messi could miss vital games against Inter Milan and Real Madrid after picking up a leg injury.
Messi was substituted in Barca's 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao last night, with what Spanish newspaper Marca are claiming was an abductor muscle problem.
Coach Pep Guardiola later confirmed that the Argentinian would undergo medical tests on Sunday to determine the extent of the injury, before saying "The early signs are not good."
With Eric Abidal, Rafael Marquez and Yaya Toure all stricken by the H1N1 virus, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic under an injury cloud, the possible absence of the influential Messi is the last thing Barcelona need in the run-up to two extremely important matches.
First up is the midweek Champions League encounter with Inter Milan, followed by the much anticipated El Clasico match-up at the Camp Nou next weekend.
