Flores unwilling to comment

Atletico Madrid coach, Quique Sanchez Flores, refused to blame the referee for his side's 2-1 loss to Deportivo La Coruna.

Atletico started the game well and took an early lead through Sergio Aguero before a goal from Colotto and a late penalty in the dying seconds of the game turned the result around for the home side.

Tempers flared as Atletico players surrounded the referee with Cleber Santana receiving a red card while Aguero had to be restricted by the coaching staff.

Flores himself refused to join in the penalty debate, preferring to focus on his team's performance instead.

Speaking to the Marca, Flores said:"It is my custom not to comment on the referee's actions. We all make mistakes.

"We know that it will be difficult to recover in the league."

"There are signs of improvement, but we also lacked confidence. Today we played against one of the best teams in the league.

"We did not play well after the goal, but we dominated the second half and deserved more."

The result meant that Atletico stay in the relegation zone in 18th position with only seven points collected since the start of the season.
