Pepe has claimed that Real Madrid have to up their game if they are to defeat Barcelona on Sunday after a lethargic display against FC Zurich.

Real edged out Zurich 1-0 courtesy of a Gonzalo Higuain goal and Pepe did admit that a win was a win. However, he did urge his team to be better prepared for La Blaugrana.

"They [Zurich] have come to defend but the important thing is we won and now we have to rest for the next match," he told AS.

"It's an important game [against Barcelona], we are very motivated and with sacrifice we can win there."

Pepe also took time to state that he was delighted to see his fellow compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo back in action after an injury lay-off of two months due to an ankle ailment.

"I see him with a lot of hunger. He's very important for this Sunday and he can help us win," Pepe noted.
