Former Barcelona striker Henrik Larsson reckons the Catalans are playing the best football on the planet.

Larsson, who won the Champions League title with Barcelona in 2006, has been taking time out to visit his former teammates since his retirement from football.

The Swede has been impressed with the team - especially the dynamic duo Xavi and Andreas Iniesta.

"I think FC Barcelona play the best football in the world at the moment," he told Barca TV.

"The way they play, the speed of the ball, the mobility, Barça are great for the fans to watch. You enjoy watching Barça because they play so fast, they thread passes together with Xavi and Iniesta deciding what will be done with the ball. And up front they have Messi, Ibra and Henry, it couldn't be better."

Larsson is also hoping to see his fellow-countryman Zlatan Ibrahimovic play in his first El Casico match.

"There are good staff here and I'm sure they'll be doing all they can for him to be ready for the game" he said.

As for the game, he said "I hope we win the Clasico."
